Nick Kyrgios' lighter side on show at the Miami Open

Nick Kyrgios demonstrated some impressive sportsmanship in the Miami Open quarter-final, telling opponent Alexander Zverev to challenge a call when the ball was called out.

The controversial Australian's run on the east coast of America had previously been highlighted by a bizarre confrontation with a ball boy which had led to booing from the crowd.

But his lighter side was on show during a 6-4, 6-7(9), 6-3 quarter-final win over Zverev, when he encouraged his fellow up-and-comer to challenge a call.

Naturally, Kyrgios also managed to perform a hotdog shot to wow the crowd as he persevered past Zverev.

He will next play Roger Federer in the Miami Open semi-finals, live on Sky Sports on Friday night.

"He's playing incredible at the moment," Kyrgios told the ATP's official website. "He's had a great year. He obviously looks very healthy and is moving very, very good.

"I'm not going to think about it too much at the moment. I'm going to serve big and play big. That's my game style that I've had success with, so that's what I'm going to bring."
