International Premier Tennis League: Singapore Slammers and Japan Warriors secure results

Singapore Slammers, inspired by Nick Kyrgios, again won in the International Premier Tennis League on home soil.

The hosts beat the UAE Royals 30-18 on Wednesday with star player Kyrgios adding the final touches with a fifth-set win against Tomas Berdych.

Kyrgios was forced into over-time by the Royals' Berdych but ground out a 6-5 set win to hand the Slammers a second consecutive win in their home country.

They won all five sets against the Royals, with Carlos Moya and Kiki Bertens also playing vital roles.

Earlier, Fernando Verdasco secured the crucial set to hand the Japan Warriors a 27-20 win over the Indian Aces.

Verdasco defeated his Spanish compatriot Feliciano Lopez 6-1 in the fifth set, needing just 17 minutes, to hand the Warriors a result.

The Aces only won a sole set against the Warriors, coming through Lopez and Ivan Dodig in the men's doubles.

The IPTL continues on Thursday, live on Sky Sports from 9am.
