Britain's Dan Evans fought back from a set down to beat seeded Marcel Granollers and reach the quarter-finals of the ATP Tour event in Sydney.
The 26-year-old from Birmingham overcame the No 8 seed from Spain 1-6 6-3 6-3, in one hour and 44 minutes, after losing the opening five games of the match.
Evans secured the only break of the second set in game four, before breaking twice in the decider.
As his confidence grew against a player ranked 30 places above him in the ATP World Ranking, the No 67 Evans conceded just three points from his final five service games.
Evans also needed three sets to survive his opening match in Sydney against Brazilian qualifier Thiago Monteiro.
He now faces top seeded Austrian Dominic Thiem, as he bids to become the first British winner in New South Wales since Tim Henman 20 years ago.
Thiem was fully stretched by qualifier Gastao Elias who lost 6-7 (5/7) 6-3 7-5 in two hours and 39 minutes.
Also through to the last eight is the No 2 seed Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay who beat Frenchman Nicolas Mahut 6-4 2-6 6-2.
