Nick Kyrgios 'broke the code of conduct' and 'lacks respect' says Sky Sports' Peter Fleming

Peter Fleming says Australian hot-head Nick Kyrgios is an overgrown teenager who lacks of respect for his own career.

Kyrgios could face punishment after his antics against world No 110 Mischa Zverev at the Shanghai Masters on Wednesday.

He was seen to float a serve tamely over the net and walk out of points before they were over.

The world No 14 lashed out at fans and insisted "I don't owe them anything" after he was booed off court in one of the biggest flare-ups of his volatile career.

The Association of Tennis Professionals' rules state that any player failing to put in 'best efforts' in a match __can be fined up to £8,000 for each violation.

And Fleming believes although the 21-year-old lives up to his rebellious nature, he should be punished for his latest antics.

"He's still an overgrown teenager," Fleming told Sky Sports News HQ. "He's still rebellious and fair enough, but people pay good money and it's almost no necessarily an issue, well, it is an issue for the spectators.

"The people that run the ATP tour and who want to see the sport become more popular - that kind of stuff just can't happen, plain and simple.

"You want to be a part of this game and you take millions of dollars out of it every year, surely there has to be some sort of a code of conduct and he broke it today."

Asked whether this was the worst Kyrgios meltdown he has seen, Fleming responded: "Yes, this is the worst that I've ever seen him. He just didn't try from start to finish and it's almost a lack of respect for his own career and himself because it's your life's work and yet you don't really care about it"
